Our editorial standards
Last updated: May 2026. These standards apply to all content published on LumenVerse across all languages and platforms.
Editorial independence
LumenVerse operates independently of any government, political party, or commercial advertiser. Editorial decisions — what to cover, how to frame it, what sources to cite — are made exclusively by our editorial team without commercial influence.
No article is commissioned, altered, or spiked as a result of commercial relationships. Advertising, if present, is clearly labelled and does not influence editorial content.
Source standards
We require a minimum of two independent primary sources for any factual claim that is not directly verifiable through official documentation. Primary sources include: official statements and press releases, court documents, peer-reviewed research, wire service reporting (AP, Reuters, AFP), and on-record interviews.
Secondary sources — blogs, social media, aggregators — are used only to identify leads, never as sole verification. We do not publish claims that cannot be independently verified.
Editorial review process
Every article published on LumenVerse is reviewed and approved by a named senior editor before publication. Editors verify: factual accuracy of claims, presence of at least two independent sources, headline accuracy (no sensationalism), and appropriate attribution.
Articles that do not pass editorial review are held for further verification or not published. We do not operate on a publish-first-correct-later basis.
Use of technology in our newsroom
LumenVerse uses technology to assist in monitoring news sources across languages and synthesising information from multiple sources. This technology assists our editors — it does not replace them. No article is published without human editorial review and approval.
We are transparent about our use of technology. Where automated tools assist in drafting article structures from multiple sources, this is disclosed. The editorial judgment, source selection, and factual verification remain the responsibility of named human editors.
Corrections policy
We correct factual errors as soon as they are identified, regardless of when the error was published. Corrections are appended to the relevant article with the date and nature of the correction clearly stated.
We do not silently edit published articles. If a significant correction changes the substance of a story, we note the correction prominently at the top of the article. Readers who identify errors should contact corrections@lumenverse.app.
Diversity and representation
LumenVerse is committed to covering stories that reflect a diversity of perspectives across geography, language, culture, and socioeconomic context. We actively seek sources from underrepresented regions and communities.
Our multilingual publishing — English, Bahasa Indonesia, and German — reflects our commitment to making quality journalism accessible beyond English-language markets.
Privacy and data
We do not publish private information about individuals that is not directly relevant to their public role. We follow established media law standards regarding the identification of minors, crime victims, and private individuals.
Sources who request anonymity are protected. We do not reveal confidential source identities.
